A pictures of the memorial fountain for Odilon-Jean Périer, a Brussels poet
on Lloyd George avenue in Brussels.

The inscription on the rim of the basin, is the first line of his most famous poem :

Je t’offre un verre d’eau glacée
    n’y touche pas distraitement
il est le prix d’une pensée sans ornement

Photo taken near the Grand Place in Brussels on my first visit to this beautiful city in May 2009.
After spending the whole day sightseeing we stopped to enjoy the music and atmosphere in the market place, where everyone seemed to be indulging in Belgian beer and frites. However these city strollers chose a cool alternative.

Brussels – Dissuasive

Photo submitted by © Luuk Christiaens

The new owner clearly hates Art Nouveau tourists! Dissuasive?

PS. BTW Hôtel Max Hallet is one of the superior examples of Horta “hôtels” in Brussels. The façade hides a most remarquable winter garden and mind blowing reception hall.
